How to really make money online writing articles

I have seen on forums here on Hubpages pages, one person claiming their hubs make $1000 a month and another person complaining their hubs have made only a few cents, even though they both have approximately the same number of articles written.

The person must be lying right? Well in some cases they might be, but it is definitely possible to make good money writing articles here on Hubpages and on other sites like Infobarrel.

One of the main things that people fail to do is market research. Most people know that it is important to undertake market research if they are starting a new business. You should do the same research when you are planning to build a new website or even just write a new article.

If you are writing about something that is obscure and not something people need information on, how do you expect to make money?

Most articles that make good money, solve specific problems. Nowdays, when people have a problem, they go to Google and they type in their question or problem.

They are looking for a solution to their problem. If the solution involves them paying for it with their credit card and they are desperate enough, they will pay. Or at the very least, they will click on an advertisement that offers to solve their problem.

Most problems that people have can be classified into three groups:

- financial or money problems

- health problems

- relationship problems

If your article can be classified in one of the above three groups, you have a good chance of making money from it.

Marketing and promotion

The next big reason why most people fail to make money with their articles is that they don't spend any time marketing or promoting them.

It doesn't matter how great or fantastic your article is, if you don't spend as much time promoting your article as you do writing it, you won't get much traffic to it and it won't make much money.
