How to find hot internet and search trends
66Make money from riding with the current trends
One way to make money on the internet is to provide information on what people are searching for. The more people you have searching for a particular keyword or phrase the higher chance you have of getting traffic to your web site. Of course you will need to appear somewhere in the top search results, but that is the topic of another hub.
The more traffic to your site, the more chance you have of then converting it to sales or the ability to sell advertising on your website. A popular keyword might be difficult to compete on, but if you follow the hot searches, you might be able to find a particular keyword or phrase that is new. This often happens with a new product launch or a breaking news story.
So how do find what people are searching for?
There are a number of sites that provide data.
Google trends is fairly well known. It can show the hot searches on a particular day and you can compare the trends for different keywords. While it doesn't provide actual numbers, if you know how many searches are done on a particular keyword from your own data or another source, it can be possible then to estimate by comparing it to other keywords.
AOL search shows a list of hot searches, It also shows categories such as electronics, celebrity, auto, movie, music and finance.
Yahoo Buzz is more of an editorial but also has lists for actors, movies, music, sports, TV and video games.
Old search favorite Lycos has a list of the top weekly searches.

I'll check out Yahoo Buzz... Thanks!
I'll also recommend Tweet Meme.
Thank you for a good article. I didn't know about Lycos also. For Google's trends the best site is www.newsonrails.com, it publishes 100 Google's trends, meantime Google gives us only 40.
