Can you actually make money from Hubpages?

I have to admit that i was pretty skeptical about actually making money from Hubpages when i joined.  It's even hard to believe that i have been a member there for two years! I made a few hubs when I first joined, but only recently have I started using Hubpages to learn how I can really making money with the site.

Rather than doing some actual testing with the site two years earlier, I used my preconceived ideas about making money online and came to the conclusion, that while it might be fun to spend some time on the site, there is no way i could actually make money with it.

It seems though that it is possible to make good money on hubpages and infobarrel, if you do it the right way. 

The advantages of using sites like Hubpages is that:

- they get indexed quickly by Google.  As we know Google loves content heavy websites.
- they already have a lot of inbound links.  Your article will perform better if you can get a couple of links to it, but even if you don't do anything, you will get some traffic
- the adsense ads are very strategically placed.
- you don't need your own site. 
- you can write about anything you like.  Most people run websites on specific niches, so if you want to write an article on something secure that you know might make money and it doesn't fit into your existing site, hubpages or infobarrel can be great sites to use

The disadvantage is that you don't earn 100% of the adsense revenue, but these sites are companies and they need to cover their costs and make a profit as well.

If you work hard and write articles on hubs that provide solutions to problems that people are looking for on Google and try to at least get a couple of links to your articles, you can make money.
